David Buxbaum

David first came to the Mattole Valley in 1984 to fish steelhead, and has been smitten with place ever since.  Spending time on the river, he began to appreciate more deeply the biological foundation that fish represent in this ecosystem. His learning continues with his involvement in the Mattole Salmon Group. David worked as a software engineer and entrepreneur in the S.F. Bay Area for most of his career, and holds a B.S. in Computer Science from U.C. Berkeley.
