Coulborn and Sebbas Creeks Sediment Reduction and Salmonid Enhancement Project
Note: This project is located in the Middle South Fork Eel River Watershed
Funded by: CDFW Fisheries Restoration Grant Program (FRGP) and Lost Coast Forestlands (LCF).
Brief description: This project will reduce sediment delivery and improve water quality for all life stages of salmonids in Indian Creek by preventing the delivery of approximately 5,129 yd3 of sediment from road-related sediment delivery features to Coulborn and Sebbas Creeks including, upgrading 17 features on 1.9 miles of road and decommissioning 38 features on 3.5 miles of road (a total of 55 features on 5.4 miles of road).
Peregrine Pond
Mattole Coho Recovery: Off-Channel Habitat Enhancement Project 2014. Funded by : CDFW Fisheries Restoration Grant Program and Fish America Foundation, NOAA Restoration Center.
Brief description: excavate off-channel pond, (approx. 650 cubic yards) install wood structures (approx. 15 unanchored) in pond, and connect to stream.
Baker Creek 2014
Baker Cr. –SFI, BLM
Brief description: install sealed cross-channel log and boulder weirs intended to improve habitat for salmonids and increase groundwater recharge at sites. Install other log, rootwad and boulder structures intended to improve habitat for salmonids. 6 weirs, 3 other anchored structures, 4 unanchored wood structures.
Baker Creek 2013
Baker Cr- similar to 2014, but whole season, more structures. 10 weirs, 2 all log/rootwad unanchored cross-channel engineered log jams, excavate off-channel pond (approx 200 cubic yards), 2 wood fence structures (there’s probably a better name for these, but I’m not remembering what Rocko calls them), 6 unanchored wood structures.
Baker Creek 2012
Baker Cr.-similar to 2014, 3 weirs, 1 anchored wood and boulder structure, excavate off-channel alcove of approx. 200 cubic yards.
Extra Project
Baker Cr.-similar to 2014, 3 weirs, 1 anchored wood and boulder structure, excavate off-channel alcove of approx. 200 cubic yards.
