The Mattole Watershed
Hidden on Northern California’s Lost Coast, the Mattole River watershed is located in the southern extent of the temperate rainforest of the Pacific Northwest. Unhindered by dams, the Mattole River drains two hundred and ninety-six square miles of sparsely populated hillsides and rugged coastal mountains on its sixty-two mile journey to the Pacific Ocean.
