Coho 911

This year the Mattole Salmon Group is focusing the bulk of their restoration efforts on coho salmon.  The native Mattole coho are nearly gone. Recent winter surveys have produced alarmingly low numbers of adults, and the population estimate is disheartening.  The MSG is stepping up efforts to educate watershed residents and resource agencies about the situation, and do everything we can to sustain what may be one of the last generations of native coho in the Mattole.
