Community Outreach

Each year the MSG hosts work projects for volunteers such as willow mat weaving.  Willow mats (pictured below) provide temporary shade and shelter for young fish in the warm, exposed waters of the estuary/lagoon.  Pictured here are volunteers from the Salmon Group, Mattole School, the Mattole Restoration Council, and the town of Petrolia.
