Salmonid Population Monitoring
Adult Escapement Monitoring: Staff monitor adult salmonids and redds to collect genetic, health, and abundance information on adult salmonids, and assess population trends.
Down Stream Migrant Trapping: Staff count and measure juvenile salmonids migrating downstream to collect genetic, health, and abundance information on juvenile salmonids, and assess population trends.
Summer Steelhead Abundance Surveys: Volunteers and staff conduct snorkel surveys throughout the mainstem and major tributaries, counting summer steelhead to allow for annual comparisons of population estimates.
Juvenile Distribution and Abundance: Staff dive throughout the watershed to document juvenile salmonid distribution, abundance and presence, and compare results to water quality trends.
